Tat'll do for new Penarth tattoo studio
12:00pm Sunday 28th October 2012 in News By Robert James Owen
TATTOOER: Lisa Walker (right), pictured with her sister, has opened Inkabella on Plassey Street.
A BARRY woman is hoping to leave her mark on Penarth, after opening her first tattoo studio.
Lisa Walker had an ink-ling that there was a gap in the market for a female artist, and opened Inkabella on Plassey Street on October 6.
Specialising in colour work, Lisa - originally from Manchester - has been tattooing for six years under the guidance of established Barry tattooer Lee Clements.
She held an open evening attended by around 40 friends and family.
"I want the shop to welcoming and inviting," she said.
"Some tattoo shops can be a bit intimidating but I want this one to be different. Female tattooists are relatively rare - hopefully that will work in my favour."
Open Tuesday to Saturday (10am to 5.30pm), Lisa charges £50 per hour for work.
Piercings are expected to be on offer from her sister, Gemma Holt, shortly.
To find out more, call in the shop at 89 Plassey Street, or ring 07789 019931.
Examples of Lisa's work are available to see on Facebook - Lisa Walker Tattoos.
