THE cold temperatures haven't stopped 1148 Penarth Air Cadet Squadron taking part in fun activities.
Over the last few weekends the cadets have been non stop. They spent one weekend recently at MOD St Athan doing their weapons handling tests, then shooting the number 8 rifle.
Last weekend they were climbing and abseiling at Llangorse activity centre, some went for a walk around the Vale to practise for the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Others then attended training to take part in the 50 mile WARMA march.
Cadet Gallivan said: "I really enjoyed the shooting weekend as I have never fired a rifle before. I also had a great time climbing and abseiling with my friends!"
The Air Cadets have a lot more to look forward to in 2013 with plenty of things going on, such as a weeks camp to RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus, their bronze Duke of Edinburgh expedition, archery, kayaking, flying, more shooting and mountain biking to name a few!
