THE Victorian era might be long gone but that didn't stop hundreds of people descending on Dinas Powis for the annual Dickensian evening on Friday night.
The Rotary Club of Dinas Powis wished to thank everyone who supported the event, featuring stalls offering everything from food and drink to cuddly toys and festive lights.
Colin Jones, of the rotary club, said: "The weather gremlins were on our side this year which put a smile on everyone's face.
"Hopefully every stall had a successful evening and raised enough funds, and for the hundreds of visitors who attended we hope you enjoyed our festive evening.
"Too many people to mention but thank you to all the local businesses that supported the evening without this help it would be very difficult to operate."
Amusements included side stalls of coconut shy, football fun, crazy golf and splat the rat.
And Santa even made the effort, along with some young elves, in an impressive grotto to the side of the Three Horseshoes Pub.
A Brass band entertained the crowds with festive carols, a large Eagle Owl was on display, and there was even a crazy golf course provided.
Meanwhile the local scouts pleased the crowds with traditional Welsh Cakes, and it was all washed down with some hot chocolate courtesy of Plaid Cymru.
Dinas Powys Community Council ensured an illuminated Christmas Tree towered over the proceedings.
Local Plaid Councillor Chris Franks said: "Dinas Powys Rotary Club put in a huge amount of hard work to ensure an excellent nightÕs entertainment."
