OVER the past five weeks Penarth residents have been learning about line, tone and negative space using a variety of different media, while drawing the human form in life drawing classes run by experienced lecturer Katie Barons at the Washington Gallery.
One of the members of the group Rachel Miles, a mum-of-three, said: "Not having drawn since school days I was slightly apprehensive about starting a life drawing course - but the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and Katie's extensive knowledge and supportive teaching style quickly put me at ease.
"The class is open to any ability so whatever your level you can feel comfortable and work at your own pace. I can't wait to continue learning and improving on the next course!"
The classes would make a great Christmas present for someone creative or looking for a new challenge. There are a few spaces left so if you are interested contact Katie Barons on 07828 822110 to book (price is £48 for four weeks including materials).
Daytime life drawing classes at the Washington Gallery will run again after Christmas on Mondays 9.30am-11am, starting on January 14.
