Dinas Powys slimming class leader meets reality TV star Mark Wright

DINAS POWYS Slimming World consultant Sarah Pryor met up with a heart-throb reality TV star recently!

Sarah, who runs weekly Slimming World classes at Hebron Hall in Dinas Powys every Thursday, met Mark Wright at the weight-loss organisation’s annual awards ceremony, which celebrates the achievements of its most successful slimmers.

Sarah, who took over the Dinas Powys Slimming World group in September 2011, was thrilled to pose for a picture at the Birmingham event with Mark - who shot to fame on The Only Way is Essex, before taking to the jungle as a contestant in I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here.

He now fronts ITV2 show Take Me Out: The Gossip.

He joined Slimming World founder Margaret Miles-Bramwell OBE to host the ceremony and said: "Presenting the Slimming World Awards was a real honour. I was blown away by the people who joined us on stage.

“I couldn’t believe how much weight they’d lost and what a difference it had made to their lives – they were like completely different people.

“Throughout the day I met so many fantastic people - not only the slimmers collecting awards but also amazing people like Sarah who run the groups and help them achieve so much.

"Staying in shape is something that I have to work hard at myself and I know it’s not always easy,” he added.

“But everyone commented that having the support of the group and someone like Sarah is really important too. I really feel the people of Dinas Powys are very lucky to have such a great support network on their doorstep."

Sarah said meeting Mark was the perfect ending to a great year for her Slimming World group and the organisation as a whole, which helps more than a million people every year lose weight and lead healthier lives.

"But there’s still a lot of work to be done," added Sarah.

"With one of the highest levels of obesity in Europe right here in the UK, we want to help even more people to slim down and improve their health starting this January.

“At this time of year lots of people will be making New Year’s resolutions and pledging to lose weight, and we’d love anyone who wants to make a change to come along and join us."
