Penarth white collar boxers rise to a tough challenge!
4:30pm Thursday 24th January 2013 in News
SEVEN members of Penarth White Collar Boxing Club took part in the Tough Mudder challenge in Chester - and as club coach Neil Munn said, 'what a challenge it was'!
The club have completed a few challenges in the past, like the Commando Challenge and Men's Health Survival of the Fittest, but all seven members agreed that this was the toughest they had faced to date.
Set over 12 miles the course ran through mud a foot deep, and there were freezing cold dips all the way around.
"The cold was ridiculous," said Neil.
"The team could not stop shaking from the icy cold water.
"They then had to climb 8ft and 9ft walls - which proved particularly difficlt as none of them could feel their body or hands!"
The seven brave souls also endured a commando crawl over long distances - whislt being electrocuted.
"That hurt," added Neil.
"We all agreed it was the most physically and mentally demanding thing we have done."
But despite the tough course all seven team members said it was a fantastic feeling to complete it, as many others failed.
"Everyone felt great afterwards," said Neil.
