 POLICE have appealed for information after an attempted burglary in Dinas Powys last Thursday (7th February).

A man was trying to enter a house on Matthew Terrace by the rear door at around 1.20pm when he was disturbed by the householder.

He then fled through the garden gate and along Cardiff Road toward Eastbrook railway station.

The man is five feet 11 inches tall with a thin brown beard and a damaged tooth. He was wearing a green woollen hat, a grey top beneath an ill fitting dark top, dark coloured tracksuit type trousers with a tear on the right leg and dark boots.

Detective Sergeant Julian Kerslake of Barry CID said: “This was a very disturbing experience for the owner of the property. We want to hear from anyone who may have seen someone answering this description in the area around the time in question or who may have seen someone running along Cardiff Road towards Eastbrook railway station.”

A 37-year-old man from the Barry area has been arrested in connection with this incident and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
