A PENARTH School is asking for your help to raise money for a new mini bus by buying raffle tickets in their summer raffle from this month onwards.

St Joseph's Roman Catholic (RC) Primary School on Sully Road is hosting the raffle and Wessex Garages in Cardiff is supplying the tickets and donating the main prizes.

Gareth Rein, Headteacher at St Joseph's RC Primary School, said: “We are in need of a new mini bus and would like to thank Wessex Garages on Hadfield Road for helping us with the raffle.

“The car dealership is providing the raffle tickets and also two main prizes. People will have the chance to win a Nissan Qashqai for a weekend and also tickets for a family of four to Oakwood theme park in Narberth. We hope lots of people buy tickets and help us raise money for our vehicle.

“The mini bus will allow us to take pupils on educational and cultural trips to aid their learning. We will use the bus when the children have sporting matches away too.”

The tickets cost £1 each and the raffle will be drawn at the school's summer fête on Saturday, July 6, which will take place from 12 noon until 2pm at the school grounds.

Stephen Peach, deputy business manager at Wessex Garages, said: “My wife, Michelle, works at the school as a midday and breakfast club supervisor and she mentioned to me that the school were in need of a new mini bus. We are delighted we are able to help them with their fundraising raffle.

“We are urging everyone to purchase a ticket as the children will gain so much from the new transport."
