A GLASS-ARTIST and breast cancer survivor from Penarth has been chosen as a model for the Breast Cancer Care Show at the Wales Millennium Centre next year.

Angelina Hall will take to the catwalk on March 5 along with numerous others, including men – as part of a celebration of how far they have each come since their diagnosis.

Last year, the models raised a staggering £18,000, and the show as a whole raised more than £80,000.

This year's models are aiming to raise even more, with Angelina hoping to incorporate the business she set up in the wake of her treatment in the process.

She wants local people to hold a glassware party in their homes, showcasing some of the fused glass jewellery, slumped glassware and candle lamps from her Gorgeous Glass Ltd business.

The mum-of-two will donate twenty per cent of the takings from each event for the stained and fused glass studio.

Angelina, 48, said: “It’s a great chance to buy some unique high quality, handmade gifts and have a great evening with your friends and family. All the items are handmade in my studio in Penarth and most are one-off items which are not repeated. Items for sale are highly individual at very affordable prices and range from £2.50 to approximately £40.”

All the money raised by the models and the show will be used in Wales for the many women, and men, who need help and support after receiving the devastating news that they have breast cancer.

The event is supported by a number of television personalities and last year, the Welsh Rugby Team appeared on the catwalk accompanying the models in the finale.

Angelina said: “All the models chosen have travelled the long journey through the tough treatment for breast cancer.

“The show is an incredibly uplifting experience, celebrating how far each of the models have come in their fight back to health.”
