FIFTIETH birthdays are typically spent enjoying a quiet meal with friends or a day out with the family, but a Penarth dad has celebrated by cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats, with his entire brood.
Rob Cavaye, tackled the 2.500 mile challenge with his children, Stanwell School children, Robert, 17, Alasdair, 16, and Juliette, 13 – and they raised more than double his original fundraising target to boot!
Their aim was to raise at least £625 for charity, Save the Children – enough to build a classroom in Africa.
But they have smashed that and raised nearly £1,400.
The cycle took place from August 17 to 31.
Even mum, Marion was involved, driving the support vehicle.
Rob said: “We would like to thank all those who have supported us.”
