Penarth publishing venture

A PENARTH publishing venture has been launched in line with the Penarth Book Festival this month.
Local musician and facilitator Richard Parry has formed Beauchief Abbey Press, with friends.
The books are aimed at widening public access to contemporary issues of faith, inclusion and justice.
Richard said: “There are many people who have faith, or some form of Christian connection, but don’t really keep in touch with a church. We’re publishing these books to give people stimulating resources about exploring a dynamic faith in modern life.”
The first book off the press is On Being a Broad Church, which explores the challenges to faith in the 21st century.
It is one of three new titles written for Beauchief Abbey Press by internationally renowned Bible scholar John Rogerson.
Prof Rogerson will give a talk at Penarth Book Festival.
It will be held at Stanwell Road Baptist Church from 7pm on October 20.
“John Rogerson’s work is challenging, honest, and seeks to bring to life traditional Christianity and show that it is not at odds with science, reason and modern thinking in the 21st century,” added Richard.
The books will be available at the Windsor Bookshop in Penarth.
