POLICE closed off Windsor Road this morning after concerns of a man sitting on the edge of Cogan Railway Bridge.
The man was later arrested under the Mental Health Act and the road was reopened after around 20 minutes.
Taxi driver Rhys Morgan, who saw it happen as he was driving down Windsor Road towards the Barons Court, said that he made eye contact with the man as he sat on the wall.
“He swung his leg over the wall and then he swung his other leg over,” he said.
“It was quite chilling really.”
Rhys, who own Windsor Cars, added that the road closure caused “chaos”.
“The traffic was all the way up to the town centre.
“A lot of people were using Windsor Road because of the resurfacing works on Redlands Road.”
A police spokesperson said: “There was a male sitting on the edge of the railway bridge and there were concerns over his wellbeing.
“Officers closed the road as a precaution.”
Police were called to the scene at 10.05am and the man was arrested and the road reopened at 10.24am.
