A CONSULTATION on one of the Vale Council’s most important documents will begin on Friday, November 8.

The Vale of Glamorgan Local Development Plan (LDP) 2011 – 2026: Next Stage can be commented upon for six weeks until 5pm, Friday, December 20.

The plan will guide how land is used and makes provision for the use of land for the purposes of housing, employment, retailing, recreation, transport, tourism, minerals, waste, and community uses.

It also seeks to identify the infrastructure that will be required to meet the growth anticipated in the Vale of Glamorgan up to 2026.

Documents are available for inspection via www.valeofglamorgan.gov.uk/ldp, with hard copies available for public inspection free of charge during normal opening hours at the Civic Office, Holton Road, Barry, the Dock Office, Barry Docks, Barry, Vale Council, Alps Depot, Quarry Road, Wenvoe, and all Vale libraries

Hard copies of LDP documents can be purchased by contacting the LDP team.

Exhibitions will be held, where officers will be available to discuss the Deposit LDP at Barry Dock offices, between 1pm and 7pm, on November 11, Cowbridge town hall (lesser hall) on Tuesday, 12, Paget Rooms, Penarth, on Wednesday, 20, the Gathering Place, on November 25.

Vale Council cabinet member for regeneration, innovation, planning and transportation, Cllr Lis Burnett said: “We were committed to allowing people to participate in the LDP process. We are now looking forward to the formal consultation and events, which will allow the public further opportunity to consider the Plan and make their views known.”
