YOUNGSTERS from children’s hospice Ty Hafan enjoyed a fairytale week inside the Welsh rugby camp and a VIP matchday experience against Tonga last month.
Twelve youngsters from T? Hafan family hospice were given the ultimate match day experience on Friday, November 22, courtesy of NatWest and the WRU. The lucky kids, ranging from ten to 16-years-old, enjoyed an all-expenses paid evening to remember as they watched the Wales v Tonga Autumn International in a luxury Millennium Stadium box alongside Cardiff Blues star Alex Cuthbert.
Earlier on in the week the youngsters were also given the chance to meet the team as they watched Warren Gatland put Sam Warburton’s side through their paces at a closed door training session at the Vale Hotel.
Frank Ady, Head of Business and Community Fundraising at T? Hafan, said: “I just want to thank NatWest and the WRU for giving our children and their families the most incredible experience. Despite the bitter cold everyone had a great time and it was amazing to see the broad smiles on all of the children’s faces.”
Mark Douglas, NatWest regional director, Wales said: “The work everyone at T? Hafan does is truly inspirational and we’re just happy that we could give something back to the children from the hospice. We’re committed to supporting local communities alongside the WRU and there really is no better cause than that of T? Hafan.”
