HELD in the seasonally decorated Plymouth Rooms, the December meeting of the Penarth Women's Institute, with 36 members present, took the form of a Christmas party.
A banner made for the carol festival of the Glamorgan Federation of WIs at St David's Hall, Cardiff, in early December was unveiled by president Marie Lane. Designed and produced by Marie, Joy, Anthea and Elizabeth, it was much admired.
Marie announced that next month's lunch would be held at The Merrie Harrier, and that 29 members had attended the lunch in November at the Marriott Hotel, Cardiff.
Only one member joined the six-mile walk around Cosmeston in October as part of Glamorgan Federation's 90th anniversary celebrations.
The afternoon's activities ended with June Watts playing the keyboard to accompany carol singing.
Everyone was wished a Happy Christmas.
