A PENARTH restaurant has welcomed a talented new chef into the kitchen.
Quentin Colin, a young chef from Brittany, is joining the award-winning team at The Fig Tree.
Quentin is bringing new ideas and flavours to the already varied Fig Tree menu.
Some of his specialities include his own recipe for rillettes, and the old favourite, tarte tatin.
The Fig Tree is owned by Mike Caplan-Hill and Sandie Guppy.
Mike, who opened the restaurant in 2009, said that he was delighted to welcome Quentin on board.
“His experiences of working in quality restaurants in France will add an extra dimension to our kitchen,” he said.
“His cooking shows style and flair, but he is also down-to-earth.
“He fits in very well with the current team, and we are all working hard to ensure that our guests continue to enjoy excellent food when they come here to dine.”
The Fig Tree is featured in The Good Food Guide 2014, and achieved the highest score of any restaurant in Cardiff and the Vale.
