THE ROYAL Mail have extended opening hours for Penarth delivery office to offer a helping hand this Christmas.

To make it as convenient as possible for anyone who needs to collect a parcel from the office, opening hours will be extended right up until Christmas Eve and customers can even arrange free redelivery to their address or another address if they can't get to the delivery office.

Penarth Delivery office will be open from 6.30am to 5.30pm on Monday to Friday, from 6.30pm to 3pm on Saturday and from 6.30am to 3pm on Christmas Eve.

Tony Fox, Royal Mail’s Operational Director, said: “Christmas is the busiest time of year for Royal Mail and our customers. We know that many people don’t want to wait for redelivery so we are extending our opening hours to make it easier for customers who want to pick up their parcels in person.

“Customers can help us by picking up parcels as quickly as possible or arranging redelivery as quickly as possible. We are also asking all our customers to order goods early and post cards and parcels well before our last posting dates.”

Redelivery of Christmas parcels is available for free by phoning the number on the "sorry we missed you" card or can also be arranged online.

The last posting dates for Christmas deliveries are Friday, December 20 for first class, Wednesday, December 18 for second class and Monday, December 23 for special delivery.
