A PENARTH business is celebrating the end of a nightmare before Christmas after their telephone line and e-mail were cut off for two weeks during one of the busiest times of the year.

Following a dispute between two telephone companies ‘Floors on Floors’, the local carpet and flooring company on Cornerswell Road, customers were unable to contact the company by telephone or e-mail from December 3 until December 17.

Lawrence Gonthier, the manager of the business, would like to apologise to all customers who faced difficulties in contacting the business at traditionally the busiest time of year.

“Just when customers are anxious to get their flooring in before Christmas, our telephone provider allowed an unsolicited seizure of the phone line by another company without informing us, and we have been laboring to have the number returned to us ever since.

“I have worked late every night and displayed my mobile number at the shop to ensure our customers could get in touch. However, I am sorry that our usual prompt and efficient service has been affected.”

Following the intervention of local solicitor Timothy Lucas from Lucas Law Solicitors the company is pleased to announce that the usual contact number and e-mail service are now working again.

“I could not believe that, with all the other problems facing Penarth traders, commercial phone providers could take this illegitimate and unannounced action which has affected us and our customers and then advise me that it would take 30 days for them to resolve the dispute between them.”

Floors on Floors have provided flooring in Penarth for more than a decade and are pleased to announce the return of the standards of service that our customers have come to expect, available on 029 20700711 and via the website www.floorsonfloors.co.uk
