LESSONS must be learned following the fire which raged for more than two weeks at Llandow Industrial Estate, Assembly Member Andrew RT Davies has said.
South Wales Central AM Andrew RT Davies visited the Vale Industrial Estate to meet businesses affected by the December blaze, the second fire in a month at the site.
Amongst the businesses he visited was Enzo Cleaning, where he met with managing director Jamie Sneddon.
Mr Davies said: “It was great to see local businesses doing so well, especially given the misfortune of having experienced two potentially devastating fires in quick succession.”
Tributes were paid by several businesses to the local police and fire crews whose response mitigated the impact of a huge fire.
Mr Davies emphasised that the incidents brought home the need to question the type of materials held in storage.
“Obviously a fire on this scale raises questions over the type of things we hold in storage and how," he said.
“Lessons must be learned and combustible materials must be stored correctly and safety with better monitoring of the environment in which they are stored.”
