DOW Corning Sea Angling Club held a charity open sea fishing match on Cold Knap and Porthkerry to raise money for Ashgrove school in Penarth who teach and support children diagnosed with autism.
The match attracted 140 anglers from South Wales and England. The fishing was poor with only 32 anglers weighing fish.
The winner was Andrew Hutchins with a total weight of 1,92kgs. Second was Lee Byrne with 1.3kgs and third Wayne Saunders with 1.1 kgs. Andrew and Lee sportingly put £ 70 of their pool money back into the charity.
A presentation and raffle was held at the Ship Hotel whom kindly give us the room free of charge. £2,700 was raised and Dow Corning added £750.
A big thank you to all those who helped with the running of the event, donated prizes, fished and bought raffle tickets.
