FOLLOWING on from last year's success Dinas Powys will be hosting another music festival this April.

In 2013 a week of musical treats saw 11 concerts take place, six of which were free, in line with the organisers' principle of making music free to everyone in the community.

Plans are now under way for 2014 with the festival taking place from Saturday, May 10 to Sunday, May 18.

Among the performers will be Cwmbach Male Voice Choir, Cor Mochyn Du, Bethesda Community Choir, students from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, the Palm Court Orchestra and Kate Woolveridge with the Forget Me Not Choir.

Following the great success at last year's launch, Forte Cabaret have agreed to perform for two nights at this year’s festival. There will also be outdoor concerts and events for local schools.

A spokeswoman for the festival said: "The programme is not quite complete at present so do keep an eye out for further information.

"There will be something for everyone and we can promise that you won’t be disappointed with this year’s array of talent.

"Please put the dates in your diaries and if you haven’t attended any of the festival events before, give it a try this year. You won't be disappointed."
