PENARTH Town Council is gearing up for this year's eagerly anticipated Summer Festival.

The popular annual summer festival will be held between July 10 and July 20, with the Carnival Day and fireworks display on Saturday, July 19.

Keri Hutchings, deputy town clerk of Penarth Town Council, said: "The Town Council is pleased to announce that the 2014 Summer Festival is on its way. The sun has been booked to shine as brightly as it dare and the clouds have been ordered to stay away

"The summer festival is a fantastic opportunity for those in the community who would like to organise an event. During the festival the Paget Rooms and Kymin are free to hire and there are still some spaces left in the programme for those interested.

The Town Council relaxes the fees for the hire of its buildings, the Paget Rooms and Kymin, during this period to encourage various community events.
