RAIL enthusiasts enjoyed a double treat at Dinas Powys Railway Station last week.
On Saturday afternoon, March 1, the Stanier Black 5 steam engine 44932 paid a rare visit to Dinas Powys whilst undertaking a positioning move at Barry Island.
Enthusiasts young and old crowded round to get a photo of the train as it thundered through Dinas Powys station, leaving its steam trail briefly behind it.
The steam engine reunited with its train at Cardiff Central for the onward trip to London Victoria, which formed part of the Cathedral Express rail tour.
On Friday, February 28, the Royal Train also passed through Dinas Powys conveying Prince Charles on his pre St Davids Day tour of south Wales.
