THE OWNER of Penarth taxi firm K-Tax has died in a road traffic collision in Sully.

Gareth Williams, who was aged 69, was the victim of a fatal road traffic collision at 8.45pm on Thursday, March 20, on Cog Road in Sully near the Sully Inn pub.

Mr Williams leaves his wife of 40 years Patricia and daughters Julie, Claire and Mandy and her grandchildren Alex, Anna, Dani, Cian and Mili.

Mr Williams was the proprietor of local taxi company K-Tax and was still involved in running the company.

His family has paid tribute to him, saying: “Gareth lived life to the full. He was very sociable with many friends.

“He was a great fan of rugby and football and thoroughly enjoyed watch both sports whenever he could.

“He was the head of our family who adored his grand-children and we will cherish all the good times and memories he gave us. We are devastated by our loss.”

Mr Williams’ family has asked that their privacy be respected so they can be left alone to come to terms with their loss.

South Wales Police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to contact them. Police officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who stopped to provide assistance, or anyone who may have seen the vehicle being driven prior to the collision and who have not yet given their details.
