PUPILS from Fairfield Primary School raised nearly £400 for charity during a fun afternoon of Sport Relief activities.

The day started with the whole school gathering on the playground for a Zumbathon led by Mrs Mills. The children had a great time as Mrs Mills put them through their paces.

Afterwards a netball match, complete with cheerleaders and a mascot, was held with a parents' team playing against a staff team, which was greatly enjoyed by the spectators made up of children, staff and parents.

A school spokeswoman said: “Thanks to everyone who contributed to the Sports Relief fund either by purchasing the wristbands which have been on sale in school or giving to the bucket collection after the netball match. The amount raised was £388.60, which was fantastic.”
