THE Vale of Glamorgan Council has set aside £380,000 and has agreed to continue its scheme to help the over 60s and 70s with their council tax bills.
The scheme will see residents who are eligible for the award receive a remittance of up to £40 towards their council tax payment, and it is estimated that over 10,000 households in the Vale will benefit from the reduction.
The council have also agreed that all residents who received the award in the 2013/14 financial year will have the scheme automatically applied to their account, provided they still meet the qualifying criteria.
