A MOSAIC celebrating the centenary of Belle Vue Park was unveiled by the Penarth Town Mayor on the weekend.

Councillor Neil Thomas, along with several local children and representatives from the community group Friends of Belle Vue Park, revealed the mosaic as part of the Belle Vue Park Easter Festival.

The downpour on Easter Sunday did not mar the enthusiasm of children, parents and volunteers alike as they all enjoyed the range of activities on offer that included the traditional Easter Egg hunt and an Easter bonnet and cap competition.

Designed and created by local artist Mark Robinson with the help of local children and residents, the mosaic is now displayed in the park near the entrance to the children’s play area.

Billy Rasbuary, aged five, won the Easter bonnet competition, his sister Charlotte Rasbuary, aged three, was awarded third place, and four-year-old Jacob Equeall came second.

The Friends of Belle Vue Park, who organised the event, would like to thank all the children and their parents for all the efforts that went in to the incredible bonnets and Easter caps.
