VICTORIA Primary School narrowly missed out on winning a Road Safety Quiz in a tense final that went to the last question.

Victoria Primary School recently faced St Brides in the final of the Road Safety Quiz, organised by Vale of Glamorgan, Road Safety, Planning and Transportation Services.

A Victoria Primary School spokeswoman said: "It was always going to be a closely fought battle as both schools were the only teams to have scored 100 per cent in the preliminary rounds of the competition between all primary schools within the Vale. Throughout the final each team took it in turns to take the lead. It was all down to the last round, the girls from Victoria were one point ahead. After an anxious round and wait, the points were in.

The last question, was to be the deciding question, the round and the competition went to St Brides. As stated the final was very close, with only one point between the teams at the end of the quiz. Congratulations to both teams who showed an outstanding in-depth knowledge of road safety and great sportsmanship."
