MORE THAN 1,000 Penarth residents were left without electricity after a power cut last night
The power cut hit 1,189 residents in the Lavernock area at 6.44pm on Wednesday, May 21.
During the power outage minor traffic delays were caused on Lavernock Road after the red lights at the junction with Victoria Road stopped working
A Western Power spokeswoman said that the power cut was caused by a cable fault and that they had managed to restore 585 customers “within a minute”.
She added that the remainder of residents were restored by 7.25pm, and that they were currently excavating and investigating the fault today (May 22).
