PENARTH Pier Pavilion is celebrating after hosting its first wedding ceremony.

Lee Williams and Kristy Mellin, who moved to Penarth in 2011, tied the knot on Saturday, May 24.

The ceremony took place at 2pm in the gallery and guests gathered in the decorated entry way to enjoy a drink before making their way in to take their seats.

After the ceremony, the wedding breakfast was served in the gallery, while guests enjoyed a film in the cinema and drinks on the balcony.

As the evening guests joined the celebration, the gallery was transformed into a party, with a live band and lots of dancing.

Kristy and Lee were both determined that as many local suppliers and producers be a part of their day: Sian Owen was the photographer taking beautiful images all day, Five Star Chef catered the day, from canapés, to a formal three-course wedding breakfast, to fish and chips for the evening guests wrapped in a Penarth Times!

Helen Turner, a local freelance florist, created the decorations and arrangements, Nova Crew created the lighting and staging with supplies from Display Inspirations and Wow Event Hire; The three-tier wedding cake was made by Jess Player and The Tier Garden; The stationery, wedding planning and event management were provided by Pavilion staff and volunteers.

In place of favours, donations were made to Friends of the Dogs Wales and Marie Curie Cancer Care.

The Pavilion wishes to thanks everyone who was involved in making the day so special, including the bride and groom and all of their guests who made this historic occasion complete.
