SCOUTING in Penarth and District has grown again in 2014 and is now 70 per cent bigger than five years ago.

District Commissioner Julian Jordan says: “It's amazing what has been archived in the last five years but still saddening to think about the young people we can’t fit in at the moment”.

Scouting is open to both girls and boys aged six to25 years old and with Penarth and District operates seven groups meeting in Penarth, Dinas Powys, Cogan and Llandough.

Scouting offers more than 200 different activities to young people.

There’s something for every young person, whatever their physical ability. Julian says “the key for us in more adult support this can be split in to a number of ways:

1) Leader the young people on weekly basis

2) Support the leaders when you can the weekly meetings

3) Background support with finances and paperwork

4) Being an instructor in one of the 200 activities

5) Supporting the major activities we run on a termly basis”
