A DINAS POWYS couple have been congratulated on reaching their Golden Platinum wedding anniversary by the chairman of the local community council.

Councillor Chris Franks marked 75 years of happy marriage between Phyllis and Thomas Johanson by presenting them with a vase of white flowers.

“It was a wonderful experience to meet up again with Tom and Phyllis," said Cllr Franks.

"They have experiences in life especially during the war that most of us can only read about. Tom still maintains a beautiful garden that would be the envy of many. They are blessed with a loving family and good neighbours.

"We can be very proud to have such a happy couple in our community.”
