BETHESDA Chapel played host to the Dinas Powys Community Council’s Civic Service earlier this month.
Councillor Chris Franks, Chairman of the Council, thanked the Chapel for the considerable work undertaken to prepare for the service.
He also praised the work of Roger Newberry, who led the service, and John Foote, the main speaker.
The Bethesda Community Choir performed three superb songs under the direction of Mark Thompson, and Sian Jones sang the solo.
Hymns included ‘Love divine, all loves excelling,’ ‘Calon Lan’ and ‘Guide me, O thou great Jehovah’.
Also present were representatives of many community organisations who joined in prayers for Dinas Powys. Representatives from Penarth Town and Llandough Councils also supported the event.
