THE RETIRING head teacher of St Andrew's Church in Wales School has been praised for her work by the Chairman of Dinas Powys Community Council.

Mrs Sue Jordan retired from the school after seven years of service at the end of the school term earlier this month.

Councillor Chris Franks was welcomed to the Dinas Powys primary school, along with school governor Councillor John Fanshaw, and said that he was very impressed with the pupils and the work on display.

He congratulated the retiring head teacher Mrs Sue Jordan for all her efforts in the community and wished her well as she embarked on a new phase in her life.

He said: “I was shown around the building and grounds by the pupils who were obviously very proud of their school. The imaginative use of the grounds, which were incorporated into every day lessons, was very creative. Academically the school produces excellent results."

He added: "This is a very happy and successful school. It is a credit to Dinas Powys.

"There are big changes next term with a new Head and Deputy and a number of staff being promoted. This shows the strength of the school.”
