PUPILS and teachers at Ysgol Gyfan Bro Morgannwg have celebrated an excellent 100 per cent A-level pass rate.

Every student in achieved an E grade or above in their results with 77 per cent achieving a C grade or above.

Overall, History pupils shone the most with 100 per cent gaining a C grade or above.

The school's highest achiever was Elis Jackson who gained four A* grades in Maths, further Maths, Design Technology and Physics.

Some of the other outstanding individual results were Meirin Evans with three A* grades in Maths, Further Maths and Chemistry and an A in Physics, Michael Scannell with four A grades and head boy Lewis Harrison with an A* in Maths and A grades in History and Physics.

Sophie Lamb was the highest achiever out of the girls with three A grades in History, Psychology and English Language.

Joseph Lee, who gained two A* grades in Maths and Further Maths and two A grades in Chemistry and Physics said: ""I'm really, really relieved. I was up at 6am this morning

I'm so happy with my results. I didn't imagine I would get those."

Joseph will study Physics in Manchester University.

Off to study History at Durham University is head boy Lewis Harrison.

He said: "I'm really pleased. I've told everyone at home my results. I can't stop my mum from crying"

A spokeswoman for the school said: "We are delighted that all pupils have excelled in their own particular fields, in both the vocational and more traditional subjects and this year again the whole cohort were entered for the Welsh Baccalaureate and were awarded the diploma.

"We are extremely proud of the achievements of all our pupils and delighted that as a school we continue to cater for and nurture each individual.

"Particular praise is due this year for the numerous pupils who achieved distinctions in business studies and music performance BTEC courses.

"Congratulations to all the pupils and staff and we wish our pupils well in the future. Well done!"
