WELSH Government figures have revealed the absentee rates for Vale pupils and Wales’ other 21 local authorities.
The figures said there had been an annual fall in secondary school absenteeism statistics in Wales, but while overall absence fell unauthorised absence remained the same.
The Vale registered 5.8 per cent for overall absenteeism by pupils of compulsory school age in all local authority maintained schools for 2013/14 with the average 5.7 per cent.
Unauthorised absenteeism by pupils of compulsory school age in all maintained secondary and special schools, by local authority, 2013/14 was one per cent for the Vale with the Wales average 0.6 per cent.
