POLICE have just released details of an unprovoked attack which left a man with injuries to his face and mouth outside a pub in Penarth.

The 50-year-old man was targeted outside the Railway pub on Plymouth Road on Sunday, September 21.

The man had been drinking in the pub with his wife and a group of friends, and had gone outside with his wife around 1.45am.

Whilst he was standing outside, he was punched once to the left side of his face and knocked over before his wife helped him back to his feet.

PC Emma Fitzgerald said: “We have yet to identify the attacker but we are sure that some of the people who had been in the pub must have seen something or may know something about this attack”.

Police are appealing for anyone that witnessed the incident to come forward.
