ROADS in Penarth will be temporarily closed for the Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday morning.
The route climbs up Penarth Road by the Baron’s Court traffic lights, goes down Terra Nova Way and Penarth Portway passed Tesco’s and The Oystercatcher, then over Cardiff Bay Barrage.
The main roads affected in Penarth will be Penarth Road, the Cogan Spur roundabout, Terra Nova Way, and Penarth Portway
The race starts at 9am, but road closures will be in force from 8am until 11am around Penarth.
Residents and spectators are advised to give extra time for travelling on race day, to plan their route in advance, and be aware of potentially congested areas.
A record 21,000 runner have signed up for the hugely popular race this year, which is set to host the prestigious IAAF World Half Marathon Championships in 2016.
Thousands of people are set to raise money for a wide range of charities, while many others will be aiming for personal best times after months of training.
