ON October 3, Carole Bumford (Lady Captain at Brynhill Golf Club) and her vice Glynis Gould attended an assembly at Cogan Primary School to donate £1,280 to the 'Specialist Hearing Resource Base' at the school. One of the pupils at this centre is Claire Downton's son, Daniel, and grandson of Carole Allen.
Brynhill Ladies donate to a charity of the Lady Captain's choice and with their close ties with Daniel, since he was born, she chose Daniel’s school. All year they have fundraised, coffee and golf mornings, raffles and a Christmas fayre to name a few events.
Carole and Glynis were delighted to hand the cheque to Daniel, who incidentally was reluctant to pass it on, to Head of Resource Mrs Maria Thomas. They were given a tour around the school and could see what a difference the money would mean to the centre and know the hard fundraising of the whole of the ladies section will be well spent.
The Ladies section has also raised money to improve the area outside their locker room and the porch leading into the locker room.
