A PENARTH family has appealed for priceless photos of their first born baby to be returned after their house was “ransacked” by thieves.

The couple said they were“devastated” on discovering that camera equipment, laptops and memory cards containing photos of their six-month-old baby were taken from their house on Grove Place during a burglary.

Sarah and Grant Robson said the photos of their daughter Olivia were “irreplaceable” and appealed for anyone offered any of their stolen items to contact the police so they could be returned.

The theft occurred between 1.30pm and 4.30pm last Friday afternoon, October 17.

Mum Sarah had lost her house keys on the Thursday and was searching for them in Penarth town centre, asking shops if anyone had handed them in after she had notified local police, when their house was targeted.

When she returned home she found the keys in the door and several personal belongings stolen from the house including a Nikon SLR D3300 camera with SD memory card, Apple Mac Air laptop and Samsung Notebook laptops, costume jewellery, an engagement ring, clothing, sunglasses, a Breitling and Tommy Hilfiger watch, spirits and an antique phone from Grant’s grandmother.

Sarah, 31, said: “We are absolutely gutted that we have lost all our photos of Olivia from when she was born up until now as they were all on the camera and laptops.

“We can’t replace them unless we find the memory card.”

Sarah added that despite having the locks changed they don’t feel safe in their own home anymore.

Grant, who works at Cwmcarn High School in Cross Keys, said: “They just took anything they could get their hands on.

“We can replace the stuff that was valuable, but some of the things have sentimental value and are priceless.

“We lost thousands of photos of her in her early years.

“It’s gutting to think that we might not get them back.”

The couple said it had been a “difficult” few days dealing with the crime scene investigators and insurers, but thanked everyone for their support

“The police have been really supportive and the neighbours have been fantastic and really kind,” said Sarah.

“We couldn’t have asked for anything better from them in a bad situation.”

Anyone who has information about the burglary or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting occurrence number 1400389728
