COMMUNITY groups in Penarth, Sully, Dinas Powys and Llandough have benefitted from the 2014 Lloyds Bank Community Fund after nearly 1.5 million votes were cast across the country.

Four groups that will receive funding are the Marie Curie Hospice, Cardiff and the Vale with £3000, Friends of the Dogs (Wales) with £3000, Ty Hafan with £1000 and Dinas Powys Voluntary Concern (DPVC) with £500.

Overall, 1,400 good causes were selected for funding with over 700,000 people benefitting either directly or indirectly from the good work they do within the community.

Votes were cast between September 2 and October 10, with people voting in branch, online, via SMS text message and for the first time on Twitter.
