HUNDREDS of Dinas Powys residents paid their respects at the memorial service at the Twyn on Remembrance Sunday.

Wreaths were laid by a wide range of local organisations, including churches, St Cyres School and a great number of civic and sports clubs.

The Guides, Scouts, Brownies and Cubs were also all represented in the service.

The Rev Andrew James of St Peter’s Church and Jonathon Davies from the Baptist church conducted the service. Bill Framption chaired the event. The tributes were led by the Legion, the Royal Marines Association and the Merchant Navy representatives. This was followed by Dinas Powys and Michaelston Community Councils.

On Armistice Day itself a smaller service was held which was also well attended.
