ALBERT Primary School has teamed up with Michelin starred chef James Sommerin for its annual Christmas Fair.

Chef James Sommerin, who recently launched his own restaurant on Penarth Esplanade, has sponsored the event and will also judge the school’s Bake Off competition.

Karen Martin, from the school’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and Supporters of Albert Primary (SOAP), said: “Last year we had some amazing cakes that included a sleight that looked so good it was a shame to cut it.”

She added that after they had been judged the money raised from selling slices would go towards the fundraising.

A number of local businesses have also got involved and sponsored the programme of events, while Vale Tennis has sponsored the school’s Santa’s Grotto.

There will also be arts and crafts stalls, the school choir singing, and a range of Christmas themed events.

The Christmas Fair will run from 5pm until 7pm on Friday, November 28.

Entry is £1 for adults and free for children.
