FORTY nine members attended the WI meeting held in the Plymouth Rooms on November 13, and members were pleased to welcome Marie back. There will be a Carol Service on December 17 and a Taste of Wales on February 28 2015.
There will be no Christmas tree this year, but members were asked to wear something festive for the lunch party on December 11. Members are asked for £3 to be spent on a gift, and there would be three raffle prizes and a table competition.
Ian Roche gave a fascinating talk about his work with the Police Force which he explained was never the same two days running. Telephone scams, cash machines and devices, internet banking, credit and debit cards, economic investigations, tracing missing people, fraud changes every month, the list of scams appeared endless.
However, we were warned about using cash machines safely by making sure we put our hand over the pin number. A vote of thanks ended an enjoyable afternoon, and everyone went home with much to think about.
