A PENARTH born man who is believed to have joined a jihadist group in Syria is among those who have had their assets frozen by the UK Government.
Reyaad Khan, 21, has been featured on a list of 22 people facing financial sanctions by the Treasury due to their involvement with terrorism or terrorist activities.
Student Khan left Britain to join the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant group in Syria (ISIS).
The Treasury's actions mean that "relevant institutions" must freeze the accounts of anyone on the list.
Khan is one of two Welsh men to be on the list ,the other being Nasser Muthana from Cardiff.
Earlier this year Reyaad Khan appeared in an online recruitment video filmed in Syria urging British Muslims to join Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant.
Using social media Khan has spoken about the "fireworks" planned for the US, should they return to fight in Iraq.
