A MINIBUS taking elderly Llandough residents shopping has returned after volunteer drivers came forward.

The weekly minibus, which is run by East Vale Community Transport (EVCT), made its first trip to Tesco since in relaunched last Thursday, January 8.

The weekly minibus service was temporarily suspended in September last year due to a lack of volunteer drivers.

Following an appeal for volunteer drivers Paul Morris stepped forward and enjoyed his first ‘shopping run’ for the Llandough residents last week.

Any Llandough resident who would like to make use of the shopping trips should contact Llandough Community Council through the Clerk to the Council Paul Egan by phone on: 01446 409294 or Email: clerk@llandough-cc.co.uk

A spokesman added: "EVCT is looking for volunteers to drive our minibuses. As the registered charity struggles to meet demand, many people are left unable to access the transport they need just to live a normal life. Please check out our Volunteer page and find out more about becoming a driver with EVCT."
