CELEBRATING national nest box week this February, two wildlife events are coming to the Vale.

At Porthkerry Park on Saturday, February 14 and then at Cosmeston Park on Sunday, February 15 there will be bird box making sessions and a talk and display from Owls4U.

Rangers at the parks will be holding the bird box making sessions, to celebrate national nest box week, where you can go along and make your own nest box and give a brood a home.

Owls4U will also be visiting both sites to display and talk about their rescued owls, Bart, Dai, Honey and Dusty. There is no charge for the owl display; however, Owls4U would be grateful for any donations on the day.

The price for constructing a bird box is £5 and there will also be pre-made boxes on sale for £5 each.

The session take place between 11am and 2pm
