LOCAL artists are set to open a pop-up shop in the town centre this weekend.

Art colleagues Guy Wooles, Steve John, Chris Taylor and Diana Mead will open 'Artisan Corner' in the former Penarth Christmas Market outlet on the corner of Glebe Street and Ludlow Lane.

The artists, who also had a stall at the previous pop-up shop, will be selling some of their popular pre-Christmas art items, as well as introducing new original pieces.

"We have been delighted by the support and response from everyone in Penarth and feel the time is right to continue the lively art market which was developing in the pre-Christmas period," said Diana Mead.

"This is not just about the artists and craftspeople who were in the Christmas Market but includes our fellow artists and craftspeople in Rowleys and other town centre locations. We have also been aware of genuine support from the many unique small business we are fortunate to have in Penarth, there seems to be a new optimism developing in our town centre."

The pop-up shop will be relaunching on Saturday, January 31.
