TY HAFAN will once again be bringing Wales’ most colourful 5K Rainbow Run to Porthcawl to support its vital work with life-limited children and their families.

More than 700 people have already signed-up for the wacky fun run taking place on Saturday, April 18, at Coney Beach.

Participants will walk, run, skip, dance or even hop the route – and will be showered with coloured powder along the way.

Mair Kinsey, marketing and events officer at Ty Hafan, said: “The Rainbow Run is not a race and it’s not about speed or fitness – it’s about having lots of fun with friends and raising a smile for Ty Hafan.

“Ty Hafan is a magical place, full of fun and laughter and not what you might imagine a hospice to be. We aim to make the very most of the precious moments that children and families have together – that’s why we think that the Rainbow Run is the perfect way to celebrate and support the work we do.”

In 2014, the Rainbow Run raised almost £70,000 for Ty Hafan. This year the charity is also holding its colourful Rainbow Run at Dare Valley Country Park, Aberdare, on July 18 and Pendine Sands on September 26.

Julian Hodge is kindly sponsoring all three Rainbow Runs and Ty Hafan is offering further sponsorship opportunities to local businesses.

Registration will open at 11.30am at the Rainbow Run Village on Coney Beach Promenade. Entry is £10 each or £7 per person for groups of five or more, with a minimum sponsorship of £50 per person.

It costs £3.7m a year to provide the Ty Hafan’s state-of-the-art facilities at Sully and deliver its support services to families out in the community.
