THE Vale of Glamorgan council’s building control team has donated £1000 to the Marie Curie Hospice in Penarth.
The money was raised in aid of their friend and local paramedic Adrian Cook who sadly died in February.
The team, along with staff from the council’s planning department and Nina Estate Agents, sold raffle tickets and collected donations at the annual Building Excellence Awards at the Vale Golf Club on January 30.
Around £900 was raised on the night between the 90 guests, with the remaining £100 donated by Nina herself.
And last week the team visited the centre at Holme Towers to present them with a cheque for £1000.
Leader of the council, Cllr Neil Moore, said: “I am very proud of the staff, and pleased they have given their time and effort to a very worthy cause.”
